strings

The most common string instruments in the string family are guitar, electric bass, violin, viola, cello, double bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and harp.
This year, the students will study, analyze, describe and perform on the string instrument.  The students will continue to work on the violin and guitar.  As part of the International House of Blues Foundation, they will continue to learn to play the guitar.  I started working for the IHOBF in 2001.  Our first guest was Grammy Winner, Chris Thomas King.  In addition to being a guitarist, he starred in the Movie "Ray."
I started teaching the violin after attending Clinics from Mr. Gonzales of Eleanor McMain High School in the eighties.  Additionally, I studied the cello under Ms. Ducksworth in the seventies.
Finally, I am the lead guitarist for the Batiste Brothers Band.
My preferred method of teaching strings is the Suzuki Method.
